Cecilie Manz

Cecile Manz was educated at Danmarks Designskole and worked with professor Yrjö Wiherheimo in Helsinki before starting her own studio Manz Lab in Copenhagen 1998.

Cecilie recieved the Danish Design Prize in 2004 for the Micado table which is also a part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The Micado table is, as the name suggest, inspired by the classic micado stick game and consists of a table top and three 'sticks' that the user can assemble and disassemble without using screws or hinges.

The work of Cecilie Manz includes furniture, jewellery, lamps and sculptures, and she has exhibited with Issey Miyake Design in Tokyo, at Vitra Design Museum in Basel and all over the world with her products that successfully combines beauty, function, humour and craftsmanship.
