The 2007 Showcase theme was "A Lido Shores Masterpiece Where Architecture Meets Artistry." This house, designed by award-winning architect Guy Peterson, was conceived to create a living environment that responds to views, privacy, dramatic spatial experiences and latest in modern living. The house unfolds to the user and the visitor in a series of controlled experiences where views are directed either to the water beyond or to the beautiful private interior gardens. This is a house that is built on the same principles of modernism that the "Sarasota School of Architecture" houses that are abundant in the Lido Shores neighborhood.
This year's Showcase offered a challenging concept- to coordinate each room around a contemporary artist. Designers had the task of decorating their assigned rooms based around an individual painting.
Robert Neal and Carol Martine decorated the Informal Great Room. The room featured a Erik Jorgensen White Leather EJ56 Sofa and chair, Blue Hans Wegner Ox Chair with Foot stool, a PK 63a table with a slate table top, a Plano coffee table and four Blue Arne Jacobsen Swan Chairs.
Bonnie and Keffie Lancaster decorated the Kitchen, Sushi Bar and Butler's Pantry and made use of dkVOGUE's Series 7 Barstool in Black Lacquer.
Micheline Laberge, ASID decorated the Sitting Room with Bath which was inspired by Ansel Adams Trees photograph. She decorated the room with Hans Wegner Deck Chair, a Hans Wegner Easy Chair, Hans Sandgren Jakobsen Gallery Stool, a three seater Borge Mogensen sofa, a Christina Strand Full house table and a Verner Panton Mother of Pearl Floor lamp.
Sally Trout, ASID decorated the Guest Leisure Suite. Her room features two white leather Arne Jacobsen Egg Chairs, Viper aluminum screen,a Form 75 white high gloss Stereo bench, a PK63a marble table, and a Erik Jorgensen light blue EJ56 3 seater sofa.
