Rud Thygesen/Johnny Sorensen

In 1981, Rud Thygesen and Johnny Sorensen added this desk with accompanying drawer unit to the King's Furniture series, along with a dining table (7620) and two chairs (7511 and 7512). Introduced in 1969, the series is now a true classic of Danish design history. It takes its name from the furniture presented to the Danish King Frederik IX on the occasion of his 70th birthday in 1970. The simple, graceful lines of the desk belie the meticulous workmanship characteristic of the series and reflected, for instance, in the layout of the drawers. These exclusive pieces of furniture are firm favorites with embassies and ministries all over the world.
